RAeS and Protolabs Webinar: Aerospace Manufacturing in 2024 – the big issues
In 2023, a joint survey from the Royal Aeronautical Society and digital manufacturing specialists, Protolabs, saw over 1,800 individuals give their opinions on the key innovations, the value they add to the industry, and the potential barriers to adoption. 2024 will see a follow up survey launched with analysis on the trends, challenges and opportunities shared with RAeS members and the industry at large.
Our panel of experts convened for this session to bring those findings to life and cover topics such as:

A small cost effective turbofan jet engine with about 100kg thrust would revolutionize GA I believe. For 4 seater composite pressurized twin jets. A 100kg thrust jet will weigh about 15kg and in materials, precision and complexity is comparable to maybe 3 car turbos that retail for 300$. Existing smallest engine the PW610 costs about 1 million dollars so if a smaller far more fuel efficient engine can be made for 1000$ maybe you can see the potential. The Eclipse twin jet actually has the same fuel economy as a Baron 58 despite going twice as fast in a much bigger cabin. That surprising fact means all planes should be jets. At any size or price.

"The only people capable of making this plane disappear are the militaries of China and the United States" Florence De Changy. And the united states never bothered to look. The only people who really know what happened are those following Ned Ashton's MH370X project which has shown that the plane was abducted using top secret advanced technology that used 3 orbs to first map the plane and then create a toroidal moment in which the plane and it's occupants where swallowed up by a portal these orbs created without a trace. Not long after MH370X project began an anonymous whistleblower sent Ned Ashton an open letter explaining the technology and the operation that was captured on video by two American military surveillance satellites and released online anonymously by regicide_anon a few months after the plane disappeared without a trace in 2014. The supposed 'wreckage' of the plane found in Madagascar is a ruse that has been debunked. The "suicidal pilot" theory has been repeatedly debunked. But after more than a year of nightly podcasts inviting naysayers and contrarians like Mick West to debate him on the veracity of his evidence, no one has taken him up on that invitation. Because Ashton has the evidence and the scientific papers that prove this teleporting technology is just as real as the whistleblower who contacted him SAID IT WAS. And once this news reaches the REST of the world, we will all real-eyes that we have been fooled, HOODWINKED by a buncha' Gangsters in control of secret tech operated by JSOC and the OFFICE of GLOBAL ACCESS that they have been using to ABDUCT MORE THAN JUST AIRPLANES sins the 1960s! Everyone is soon going to be forced to wake up and smell the CONspiracy and they will soon see why our whole plan-IT is going to hell🔥. And then tell me WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO ABOUT IT?

Zaharie Ahmad Shah can be considered the Xavier Dupont de Ligonnes of civil aviation, for those who know this popular cold case story in France, where a guy killed his entire family, hide it under the house, than went to an unknown location and killed himself over there, in order to never be found. Shah had his reasons to do what he "probably' did, but, how come that, now that we know all these incriminating details, nobody turned his attention yet on profiling the psychology of this captain, inquiry more his family and relative close people, in search of more human / psychological traces or elements to understand his act (in the case he did it)? I think it may not be so difficult, in the end to prove he was maybe someone whose life was not anymore exciting enough, so that he wanted to end it with a spectacular flight, a dream come true, like going all alone to disappear and hide himself in such a place no one would go, with the thing he liked the most, a wonderful plane. Something he had to experience already and rehearse using his beloved home flight simulator.

Greetings from Jundiaí, Brazil. If he wanted to commit a mass murder suicide as a political revange, as a deep moment of sorrow, why did he need to travel 6 or 7 hours once he had many opportunities to do something sinister much time before ? It doesn't make any sense to me. A controlled ditching for the purpose of a suicide ? Could you imagine flying at night and not having any lights on the plane? Could you imagine turning off everything including critical systems in the middle of the night? Well, many controversial coincidences make me think that both the captain and the co-pilot are innocent in an ocean of lies. Inmarsat should have been the first to be consulted as soon as MH370 went missing,

Its very simple to find what happend to MH370 because it is possible to track passenger cell phones using their IMEI numbers. The cell phone service provider or law enforcement has the ability to do so. You can also use a "phone lookup service" to locate any phone number any where in the world. Unfortunately governments dont want us to know what happend to this flight.

Bold claim of $3 CASM (cost of available seat mile). Multiplied by 6 seats that's $18 cost per mile at 100% load factor. Meanwhile Southwest reports $24 per mile and they have huge economy of scale in comparison. No discussion at all of revenue available per seat mile (RASM). Where are the analyses? Bold claims of 3700 aircraft p.a. There isn't enough viable (capable of producing a market) vertiport space in the world for that. Indeed, just from a pure real estate perspective that's extremely improbable. Make the analysis public, otherwise it's just all hand waving. The time savings claims in the corporate presentation are ridiculous. The Lilium times represent only air travel time. There is no door-to-door time analysis. Look at door-to-door and all of a sudden ground transport looks a lot better, and a lot less expensive. Nothing makes sense. The joke is on the investors...

Have you guys ever considered the possibility that the hijacking of MH 370 was a robbery and not a suicide? The two guys flying on stolen passports were drug mules. The tickets were booked and paid for in Bangkok Thailand at the same time and the tickets were sequential. But in this instance, they were carrying drugs plus diamonds and semi-precious jewels in the condom bags But, in this instance, which made them worth millions of dollars each. When they landed in Beijing, they had 24 hours to book a flight and leave. They could have dumped the jewels in the transit hotel. This had to be done by one of the two major gangs in the Orient, which are the Tong or the Triad. The reason they want to smuggle diamonds and semi-precious jewels into China is that the rich people in China are trying to get their wealth out of China and in any way possible. Plus, if there immigrating to the US illegally and going through Mexico these things are very easy hidden and smuggled. And I am sure the gangs had a security detail for these two mules to make sure they got from Thailand to Beijing with no detours. So, you had to get rid of the security detail plus you had to make sure the gangs never thought you had stolen the jewels. So, in the gangs’ mind there’s always a possibility of it being an accident. And they would not be looking for you for eternity. If you kill everybody in the cabin that there’s no way for the gangs to find out plus it gives you access life to the jewels in the bodies of the mules. Here comes the hard part: someone with a strong constitution and a sharp knife has to remove the jewels from the bodies of the mules. And the pilot could’ve pulled a DB Cooper, because his hobby was paragliding. Which is very curious. The plane did not end up in the deep southern portion of the Indian Ocean, at 4000 feet in depth; but in the Java trench at 20,000 feet in depth near Christmas Island.
